It wasn't me, but now that you mention it...I'm appauled that this ever 
happened.  Whoever the next coach is, I hope that fans have learned to 
not beat him up over an 8 or 9-win season.  Hopefully people have 
learned their lesson from the Solich debacle.

Part of me has to wonder what would have become of Nebraska if Osborne 
had been fired in 1976.  My guess is that we would have gone doormant 
for a long while and possibly never recovered our status as a national 
powerhouse (keep in mind this was only about 14 years after Devaney 
revived the program).  This is why I feel great about having Osborne as 
AD.  He understands how to fairly evaluate coaches and treat them like 
humans, something Pederson never did.
