I am little surprised the list is this dead with the announcement of the
morning. The announcement was pretty much expected. Some of the things
TO said I found really interesting. One thing revealed fans expectations
around the team when Osborne mentioned that after the Astro-Bluebonnet
Bowl in 1976 a booster had told TO if he had lost that game he would have
been fired. TO's record that year? It was 9-3-1. His three previous
years were 10-2, 9-3, and 9-2-1. No wonder the boosters were livid with
Callahan. I have also made the statement that no matter how good of man
TO is/was he wouldn't have survived without winning football games. The
statement in the press conference today saying he realized during his
coaching career if he would have a losing record he wouldn't have kept
     his job.

All that aside the Callahan era is over and the search for a new coach
begins. I thought one question in the press conference was very
interesting. That being when addressing Osborne, "how attractive is the
NU job to a prospective coach"? TO said he wasn't sure but it might be
more attractive after 5-7 than it was after 9-3. I, personally, don't
think you will find candidates just line up at TO's door.
