[Husker] Saturday's Meeting

I really doubt that Tom Osborne will make any sort of
pronouncement at a Creighton home game. Osborne has
worked with Creighton's coaches frequently over the
past year, and I would think he would have too much
respect for their programs than to steal the thunder.

I don't think anybody really thinks Callahan came to
Lincoln to intentionally run the football program into
the ground. But you have to admit that the team has
played very poorly most of the season. (I'd argue
that they only played well in two games: Nevada and
Kansas State.) Did getting beat by USC take the wind
out of people's sails? Probably. But if that loss
was still a factor in allowing Kansas to hang 76 on
the Big Red, then that indicates a much bigger problem
than getting blown out by USC.

Fans looked to Callahan for answers after multiple
beatdowns (USC, Missouri, Oklahoma State) and near
misses (Wake Forest, Ball State)... he never provided
any. Instead we get statements like "I'm doing an
excellent job" and "The system works". Whether he
meant to or not, he dug his own hole here. The fans
didn't dig it for him.
