- those of you who live outside the area - the athletic department has
scheduled a meeting between the AD and the football coaching staff for
Saturday. The press will be all over that, but I doubt greatly that we'll
hear anything following that meeting, except for the reading of faces as
they come out of the meeting. As the AD, Dr. Tom has responsibility to all
the teams and that sort of announcement, at halftime of the NU-CU basketball
game, would be both classless and damaging to the bball team. I couldn't
imagine a single media person in their chairs at court side for the second
half if that happened. And Doc would be upstaged at the biggest and most
important game of the preseason. I would like to believe that won't happen.

After the meeting on Saturday, I would expect a press conference for
sometime Monday morning, or afternoon. That's when the axe will fall, if it
actually does. The Unsportsmanlike Conduct guys are saying that a new coach
would be announced no later then December 5. I don't know where that comes
from but it seems they think its a way to take back the bad taste from the
last search. As we all know, that went so well.

Based on the headlines this morning, Shatel isn't excited by this game on
Friday, but I'll be giving my DVR a good workout. Hoping its the game worth
recording. So, why don't we all take a deep breath, enjoy some hot wings
and adult beverages on Friday morning, and beat the snot out of the Buffs.
That's what makes Thanksgiving worthwhile.
