I was reading something the other day and I thought that the LSU AD was asked what would happen if Miles left for Michigan at seasons end and he said "Well I pick up the phone and say hello Mr. Pelini." That would make it sound as if Bo pretty much had the job if he wanted it.

Now the interesting question is how this affect Pelini. The
conventional wisdom is that Les Miles will be the #1 candidate for
Michigan. Miles's contract has UM as an exception, where is he leaves
LSU for UM, there is no buyout/repayment from Miles. So obviously he
has strong feelings for UM. With his record at LSU, you have to assume
the feelings are mutual.
So, if Miles goes to UM, would LSU promote within ? Have to give that
strong consideration. Coming off of the year LSU is having, there
certainly would be no shortage of candidates, but promoting Pelini
would certainly keep the system on track.
