I'm not sure TO cares about "putting his reputation on the line."  I am convinced he will do what he feels is best for the program regardless of personal risk.  I am also convinced that with TO in charge as AD, Callahan could do better than 5-6 or 6-5 (especially since we play a minimum of 12 games).

I am guessing here, but TO's question will NOT be "is next year with Callahan going to be as bad as this year?" There are problems that can be corrected to make sure it doesn't happen again (cough, cough, Cosgrove).  I think is bigger question is whether BC can go 9-3 or better every year?  If he thinks "yes" than Bill stays -- if "no" then we are looking for a new coach who does inspire that kind of confidence.

Having said all that, I'm betting against BC being in Lincoln next year.

I think if TO keeps Callahan one more season he would really be putting his reputation on the line, at least in terms of knowing what's best for the program. I'm not saying I know better than he, in fact he has forgotten more in the last two days than I have ever known, but I feel he is well aware of the potential backlash if he keeps Callahan and NU goes something like 6-5 or 5-6 next year. If you think what is happening now is bad, wait until something like that happened...

That said, I also realize TO is not here to please the fans only.
