[Husker] Joe Ganz (Long, but hopefully informative)

When you look at his first half performance...against
a top ten football team...for his first start... that
was one hell of a perfomance Joe Ganz turned in
against Kansas. Did he force a few throws in the
second half? Yep. But we were in desperation mode at
that point for the most part. And again, it was his
first start and first meaningful playing time since
high school.
As for Keller, I'll throw some numbers at you. If Sam
Keller definitely was not part of the offensive
problems, then please tell me definitively what was:
USC 42, Nebraska 10 (middle third quarter)
Missouri 41, Nebraska 6
Oklahoma State 38, Nebraska 0 (halftime)
Texas A&M 36, Nebraska 14
In all those games, Sam Keller did not play well. The
whole team did not play well. At the very least, you
put Joe Ganz into those games if only to keep from
getting Sam Keller hurt late in the game (exactly what
ended up ending his season at Texas, though in that
case, Nebraska did have a shot to win that game). And
maybe you find a different combination that works.
I think the last two weeks have shown that while Sam
Keller did the best he could as a first year starter
in this offense and has better physical tools than Joe
Ganz, he was not the right quarterback for this team.
