If TO wants that much control then he just as well start coaching again. I hope he doesn't become Pederson like. Isn't that one of the rumors going around that SP gave Frank those kind of choices and Frank said no way and then was fired. We dont need that again. Just get rid of him.
Rod Wellman <gobigred66 at mac.com> wrote: How about if our AD (and former excellent football coach) has a
meeting with BC at the end of the season and says: "Well Bill, it
was a rough year. Normally as an AD I don't get too involved with
day to day decisions on the part of my coaches, but I feel that due
to the circumstances I have to in this case. And I DO happen to know
a little bit about football. So here's the deal: as your boss I'm
telling you that you need to make certain changes to the football
program to get it back on track. I've studied the situation, and
here are the changes you will make: you'll make the following staff
changes (fill in the blank here with firings, hirings of assistants
as Tom sees fit); you'll make the following practice changes (fill
in the blanks here as Tom sees fit); you'll make the following
changes to the walk on program (fill in the blank as Tom sees fit);
you will make the following changes to the conditioning program,
etc., etc. If you don't agree to these conditions, I'll expect your
letter of resignation." The boosters get to keep their buyout money.
Or BC does what he's told (not likely under the circumstances) and we
see if he can indeed be a success at NU.
Whattya think? Is there a clause in his contract that says he
doesn't have to follow orders from the AD?
