Really the only way coaches don't typically get their buyouts is if they do
something egregious like commit a crime or blatantly sexually harass a
subordinate. Generally speaking, if there's a major NCAA infraction or a
major legal issue, then the university is not responsible for his buyout.
Even then, it's still tough to withhold a buyout. IIRC, even Neuheisal
(sp?) got his money from Colorado despite infractions.
