[Husker] Callahan Resignation statement in doubt

My quick, short responses to three good points from three different posters:

How is he supposed to answer reporters when they keep asking (or implying)
the same question week after week?

How about something like: I'm in the dark just like you guys. When the
season is over we'll all find out together what Dr. Osborne has in mind for
the program.

Just to clarify, when they're asking him to resign, they are offering MORE
money to do so. They wouldn't ask him to resign and forego millions.

Why would they offer him MORE money and cost the school more than the
contract demands? They could just fire him. They offer him some kind of deal
that is LESS money than the contract calls for but is in some way attractive
enough to give him some incentive. Obviously it wasn¹t enough. The truth is
that none of us know how honorable Callahan is. We can speculate and your
speculation, Skylar, is the one I would like to believe of everyone.
Unfortunately, a lot of the time we would be wrong. I can¹t say concerning
Callahan.

Whattya think? Is there a clause in his contract that says he
doesn't have to follow orders from the AD?

I don¹t have the answer to this, but an interesting parallel from the
history of Bill Byrne. When he was AD at Oregon, to save money, instead of
firing the basketball coach, he transferred him to head coach of the bowling
team. The coach (Don Monson) refused, eventually sued the university for the
money, and won.

Alan Siporin spending too much time on here.
