In the Ohio v. Akron game on ESPN2 there was talk of NU and I think Holtz
indicated that the walk on program under the previous regime was impressive.
Don't remember the details but it was interesting that they talked about NU
as much as they did.

We'll never know the impact of the downsided walk-on
program since we don't really have a control group to
compare it to. I do agree with Osborne that it's one
of the factors that has hurt Nebraska in recent years
though.
The article doesn't mention a former Nebraska walk-on
who transferred to Nebraska-Omaha after Callahan's
first season. Zach Miller saw the handwriting on the
wall after Turner Gill left, and is having an
oustanding season leading an undefeated UNO team.
