I think either of them could be extremely successful as HC at NU.  They
would be very different.  Pelini will bring the fire and enthusiasm in
the Devaney tradition.  Gill would bring the quiet intensity of the
Osborne tradition.  Let's just pray who ever it is brings the winning
tradition too.

I'm not saying I'm in a position to say Gill is better than Pelini or

Pelini is better than Gill. I just noticed this growing misconception
about
their resumes.  A lot of posts assume Pelini is more qualified  (on
paper)
than Gill.

But Gill was an assistant coach for more years than Pelini, a
coordinator
for more years than Pelini, and Gill will have been a head coach for two
years while Pelini has been a head coach for one game.
