Well not saying I want him fired or that he should be fired but I was at a seminar on Thursday where two department heads from the U spoke and both wondered why HP had not been fired. Their argument was that he was the one who extended SPs contract and essentially extended BCs.

Someone said that they had heard he was not going to be fired due to the fact that he gets way to much grant money for the U. Both said they did not believe that to be true because they had not seen any grant money come to their departments due to anything HP had done.

I do not believe HP needs to be fired but I do think he needs to open more lines of communication with people before giving a raise or extending any contracts ( and not just in the athletic department appearently).

Steve Reichenbach <reich at inetnebr.com> wrote: It is Milliken (not Millikan).

Milliken heads the univesity system of which UNL is one part (some of us
like to say the flagship campus, but that is not PC) with UNMC, UNO, and
UNK.

For an overview, see: http://www.nebraska.edu/about/about_admin.asp
For a brief bio of Milliken, see: http://www.nebraska.edu/about/admin_pres.shtml

There is so little chance that Perlman will be fired, that I haven't bothered
to look up whether anyone but the regents has that authority. Whether or not
Milliken has that authority or not is rather immaterial in that (1) it won't
happen and (2) he wouldn't act in that manner without regential approval even
if he could. That said, I'd guess Bob is correct.

If there is a strong message in rehiring Meyers (other than he evidently
was a good employee who didn't get on with Pederson), it isn't clear to me.

I thought better of not responding on this thread because it is so unrealistic.
