It's a good start... On #2, I would add "linebacker"
to the list of neglected positions. Look at who we'll
return at linebacker next season, and you'll see what
I mean.
For 3(b), I'd also add allowing recruiting to divert
attention away from game preparation.
For 4, I'd also add recruiting reputation as an
overrated factor in selecting assistant coaches.
I'd also add a 5th factor, a failure to connect and
relate to college players with overcomplicated schemes
that tend to never get mastered.
