HP didn't show great anything.  He was trying to save his b*tt.  Too late.

He extends SP and BC's contract after, according to his own words, he sensed
something was wrong.

5 years ago he showed a complete lack of understanding about what made NU
football special and allowed it to all be discarded like garbage.  He let
the internet knuckleheads, the flap in the wind sport writers, and SP run
the show without regard for FS's track record.  He should be fired.  Period.
For the good of the University.  It will pay dividends the next time around.
The Regions that want to give him a "mulligan" should be voted out.

Thank God for Tom Osborne.  There would be no hope of a reasonably rapid
recovery, mending of the fractured fan base, and reinstituting all that
makes Husker football special without him.

Mr. I'm doing SUCH and excellent job has two more games to babble
incoherently, make excuses, and try to convince us it's only one season.
Then HE IS HISTORY.

I hope FS is invited to and honored for all he gave to NU football at the
first home game next year.

He showed great vision and brass you know what to intervene. Albeit late and

yes, HP does look stupid, but like I always say. It's never too late to do 
the right thing.
