    It is certainly the worst since I have been aware of NU football 
which is about 1958.  I guess I really don't know that much about what 
happened in the 20's, 30's, 40's, and early 50's.  It would be hard to 
compare anyway because two platoon football at NU began somewhere around 
1964 or so.  The first couple or so of the Devaney years players still 
went both ways.  About the only player that was replaced on defense was 
the QB.  But, this year's defense is certainly the worst since two 
platoon football came about at NU.
