I've been following Husker baseball pretty closely on my blog.....

- I don't think there's anything wrong with the program. There might have
been something wrong with the team, however. With regards to Hamerlink and
Wehrle's dismissals, I think you see a clear message from Mike Anderson
that he won't tolerate the kind of BS that was happening with these guys,
and so they're gone.

- After looking like hell, they came back and pounded Baylor on Saturday,
and beat them on Sunday (suicide squeeze in the fourth/fifth inning was a
thing of beauty). After being an issue all season, the relievers had a
great weekend. Result - series win over Baylor. Final series is against a
Kansas team that needs to win to get into the Big 12 tourney, so it will
be interesting.

- Big 12: Texas *IS* all that. If I had to pick a team to win it all, it'd
probably be Texas.
Mizzou has really had a great season, coming out of nowhere, and Oklahoma
State just has a lot of offense. They haven't played near the schedule
that we have, and that might be reflected in their tourney seed, we'll see
what happens. Texas A&M - well, Bill Byrne's influence is really showing
up there, isn't it?

- Interesting that there has been some comments about getting rid of Mike
Anderson. I guess that's proof that people want the baseball program to
succeed and that expectations are high.

- They're not out of the playoff picture. I doubt they're even close. The
problem with not winning the series against Baylor is that it most likely
would have damaged their confidence and the season might as well have been
over. That didn't happen. In fact, the opposite may have happened - time
will tell, and maybe this Nebraska team will pull it together at the right
time of the season.
