Are we modeling our program after Kansas State? My apologies to all their
fans that I laughed at for their similar schedules a few years ago.

Lets just hope we don't lose one of them. You can tell that the strength of
schedule factor has been removed officially from the BCS - but the voters
see who the teams play and it still factors in.

Subject: [Husker] 2008-2009 NU Football Schedules Set & USC Tickets

Good Evening All:

Well the NU football schedules are set for 2008-2009.

NU will have 8 home games in 2008 against - San Jose State, New Mexico
State, Virginia Tech, Western Michigan and four Big XII opponents.

In 2009 NU will return to the more normal 7 game home slate matching up with
Florida Atlantic, Louisiana-Lafayette, Arkansas State and four Big XII
opponents. The three home out of conference opponents for 2009 are all out
of the Sunbelt Conference (maybe NU can claim to be honorary Sunbelt
Conference champions if they beat all three).

Neither schedule is great and the 2009 schedule is down right bad in my
opinion. I think NU should award the donors extra priority points for
requiring them to donate to see these three "games" or else give them free
tickets for those three games.

I fully realize we cannot play Florida State, Iowa, Penn State and Auburn
for our non-conference schedule like we did in 1981 but gosh we should be
able to get a school that has a little bit of name recognition (i.e.
Wyoming, Colorado State, Indiana, heck I'd even be happy with Utah State).

If this is what we have to look forward to in future scheduling I would be
more than willing to bet there will be a lot of tickets for sale with
regular season ticket holders not even bothering to attend and trying to
dump their tickets.

On another subject it appears the ticket sales business is cranking up for
the NU/USC game in September. Brokers are already asking upwards of $499 per
ticket for the game on September 15th.
