Hello Husker Fans,

A record mid-week crowd of 4,564 (Myself included) saw the Huskers
defeat Wayne St 6-1 on a gorgeous afternoon.

  Check out my gameday photos:
  http://www.nubaseball.com/gamephotos/

The game started off as a pitchers duel as the Huskers could not get
anything going off of WSU's pitcher (who looked pretty good, IMO)
until the 5th inning. It all started when catcher Mitch Abieta's
shallow center pop-fly fell between about 5 WSU players, and Mitch
was hustling all the way chugged into 2nd.

Corriston then reached on a throwing error by the SS and Belfonte
laid down a beautiful "suicide-squeeze-turned-bunt-single" to tie
  the game at 1.

Ryan Wehrle broke a nasty 0 for 18 drought and drove in Corriston
with a double that left runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. An
Andrew Brown groudout scored Belfonte and a 2 out RBI scored Wehrle
to give the Huskers a 4-1 lead.

The Huskers added 2 more runs in the 8th with an RBI single from
  Corriston and a wild pitch.

Drew Bowman pitched pretty well today, good to see since he's had a
couple rough outings lately. Harmelink pitched a solid 3 innings of
relief and Erik Bird came in for a 1-2-3 ninth to seal the win.

The Huskers kickoff the Big XII season next vs Texas Tech on
Thursday at 6:30pm. The game will be televised on a few select
  stations in NE.

  Omaha - 620 (channel 148 on Cox)
Lincoln/Hastings/Grand Island - MyTV (didn't say which channel)

Don't know what this means, but the website said "It will also be
available on some cable and satellite systems nationally on Fox
  College Sports."
