It was probably over two months ago that Gerald fist made mention about the connection between Nebraska basketball coach Doc Sadler and the University of Arkansas. As he (Gerald) aluded to, if you liked having Sadler at Nebraska, you might want to keep an eye on the Arkansas job and their potential wooing of Sadler.

You never-say-never and the proverbial "kiss of death" is never far away, but if you like the Huskers' first year coach and want him to stick around long enough to build something here (put me on that list), ya' gotta' like some of these comments re: his current job and his aspirations for the program.

I would have been both surprised and disappointed if Sadler would have stayed at NU for one year and then left. That's not to say that he won't go to Arkansas five-to-10-to-15 years down the road.

That's also not to say that he won't STILL go after this year, if and when Stan Heath is let go. But after these comments and this declaration, I'd be really, really surprised and disappointed. I have a feeling that this guy's word means something.

Season number one in the Sadler era is over. At times it wasn't easy to watch, but there were some positives and many positive signs for the future. Looking forward to season number two.
