You are correct about we believe something to be what we are told it is
and taught it is. And you are correct people create reality by what they
perceive. I agree totally. But, that doesn't mean their perception is
indeed reality. It may be to them but in actuality it may not be. It is
the same thing with the truth. The truth is the truth. The truth doesn't
become truth when it is believed. I hear people all the time when told
something say, "I don't believe that." Whether one believes it or not has
absolutely nothing to do with they were told the truth or not.
I don't want to keep going the direction of the above paragraph because
it really hasn't anything to do with Husker athletics. I only say those
things because people have been conditioned to believe the worst about
Pederson in every case. The perception is he can do no right. He certainly
has indeed made some mistakes and/or bad judgments. But, I wouldn't
automatically believe everything hook, line, and sinker because a
cheerleader, former player, or former trainer is quoted in the media with
some problem. I would be more interested in a player's opinion which has
played his whole eligibility under Callahan or one of the assistants
Callahan brought in.
For one the media likes to stir things. For another very few people in
any walk of life give their former employer rave reviews when their position
has been terminated. I wouldn't expect Ostergard or Solich et al to say
about Callahan/Pederson, "man, those are two tremendous individuals". You
typically don't feel that way after you have been shown the door for
whatever reason.
