I don't know if this is "piling on", but here is a story in yesterday's
DN about the cheerleaders:

UNL was closed for snow, so it may not have been read widely.

Here is an excerpt:

  They've lost their former coach, their scholarships and the reason
  most of them joined - the ability to stunt.

  Now the Athletic Department is ignoring their requests to talk about
  it, cheerleaders said.

  They've tried to complain to Athletic Director Steve Pederson, said
  Christy Childers, a member of the all-girl squad and a sophomore
  accounting and finance major, but he won't listen.

  The Athletic Department told her that cheerleaders aren't even
  allowed to meet with him.

  Childers managed to get a meeting with Pederson when she ran into him
  and Chancellor Harvey Perlman in a hallway during a basketball game a
  few weeks ago, she said.

  "I had a right to take five minutes of his time," she said. "He said,
  'I don't worry about the cheerleaders. That's Carrie's (Vitullo)
  job.'"

One of the things I don't like about Pederson is the way he treats
people, regardless of the decisions he makes (of which, BTW, I've also
taken a dim view).
