It sounds like Shatel's column was revised at some
point on Tuesday, likely after being contacted by UNL.
In the afternoon edition, here's how that paragraph
read:
"So I stood there and waited for someone to open the
door to the athletic department of the public
institution known as the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln."
So the World-Herald and Shatel apparantly corrected
themselves on that point. However, Pederson's other
point, that they didn't ask for comment, Shatel wrote
"Asked about the policy, Mann said it was a concern
for the safety of the athletes." (Unless that was a
late edit to the column as well...)
So apparantly Pederson's response was partially flawed
as well.
