1 - didn't NU cut some sports a few years ago?  blaming Title IX, iirc.

2 - here in NJ, where college sports pretty much starts and ends with Rutgers, there is no end of complaining about that university dropping six Olympic sports this year (due to a cut in state aid to the university, resulting in cuts throughout the university, including athletics), while the football coach got a raise in salay, and the football budget was increased (that they now enforcing the policy that requires a donation for the opportunity to buy season football tickets, is just the "cherry on top" (in the words of one affected fan))
