Hello Husker Fans,

Even though this sounds like a 'baiting' question, I would say for the
most part, yes.  I like the way the football team is progressing and I
like the basketball team's future.  The baseball team seems to have a
bright future and the volleyball team, well you know, National Champs!

I'm not going to get into the Doak issue save for the comments below,
because frankly I think the level of the reaction over a trainer
getting fired is beyond words.  I've stayed out of it and I am not
taking a side by any stretch with the comments below (or at least not
trying to give it away).  The information is there for you to do with
what you want and I am not trying to imply any opinion either way.

I spoke with a good friend of mine who played @ UNL from 1996-2000. He
really likes Doak and says he's a great guy to hang out with and he,
as well as many students, spent a considerable amount of time hanging
around his office since Doak was always there and the door was always
open. He's a great guy that is the type to be friends with everyone.

That being said, my friend spoke with Doak around the middle of the
season and even though nothing specific was discussed, he could tell
Doak was not happy with his job and his heart wasn't in it like years
past.  I don't know if that led to his termination, but that's the
information I have.
