I am completely disgusted - but I don't think this is a star athlete 
thing.  DUI is a prevalent problem in all walks of life and social 
circles.  I blame it on a kid's thinking he is bulletproof and nothing

Agree completely.

At the risk of stirring up trouble, which is NOt my intention, I wonder
in general if the days are totally gone where talent overrides ALL ELSE
(character, academic work habits, loyalty to team, etc.)

I'm old enough to recall NU passing up recruits in the past that were
snapped up by the likes of OU and UT, where presumably these kinds of
things took a lower priority.

What price excellence and winning in the 21st Century ?
