The URL you posted doesn't work for me. It takes me to a
Journal-Star site but not an article about Anderson.

I know tone in an e-mail is very hard to read. However, if I read
the correct tone into your post you are coming from a position of trying
to put those in their place that felt the Huskers didn't reach
expectations this year. I read an article about Anderson in the LJS and
I wonder if it was the same one you are referencing. I got the total
opposite take from the article I read than you did. I thought Anderson
very much thought his team under achieved in that there are games they
should have won they didn't. He talked about the bad start they got off
to. He also mentioned that the team wasn't good enough to just show up
and win. They had to play well as a team which often they didn't do.
Anderson said they did play well many times as well. He also mentioned
the off the field problems as being unfortunate. Whether they hurt
chemistry or not I don't know but it sure couldn't help.

I seriously doubt Anderson was addressing any particular group when
he gave the interview. He was simply speaking his mind. The bottom
line is Anderson is satisfied with the core of the team but not with the
consistency. He was happy to have gone to a regional which I think we
all were glad about that. I don't know where it got started that
believing a team under achieved means you have unrealistic
expectations. My expectations for the year was they play well, finish
in the top two or three of the Big 12, and continue to improve
throughout the season. Then with some good fortune we would find out
way into a regional and see what happens. I don't say they under
achieved because they didn't make it to the CWS. I say they
underachieved because I don't believe many times they played to the best
of their ability. I am not saying they didn't try. I am just saying
the production wasn't always there.
