Uh, no, Bob, let's not, and that's my problem here. This is Nebraska
BASEBALL. It's not football. It's not even close to the same mentality.

It's taken me a long time and a lot of therapy and damned hard work to get
here, but let's not even come close to confusing the two, and that's my
basic problem with Nebraska fans with this type of mentality. I don't mean
to get into a rant here (ala Dennis Miller) but it's time that we stop
confusing the two. This year was not as good a year as we wanted because

- we look at wins the same as football, i.e. - we should win *every* game
- but baseball doesn't work that way
- we think about baseball in the same way, i.e. - win the big 12, win a
national title - but baseball doesn't work that way - mostly because
there's this whole tournament thing
- I need help here because I'm still mentally working through baseball,
but it ain't football, and it's plain DAMNED unfair to compare the two and
Husker fans need to stop having that mentality.

Okay, so now we suddenly switch back to baseball because it's convenient.
Let's not do that either. I'm not trying to be rude here, Bob, because
like I've said, it's taken a while for me to understand baseball.

It ain't the same, no matter what. If we lose tonight against ASU, it
isn't some proclamation against Tom Osborne, or Nebraska football, Turner
Gill, or Darin Erstad. It's because we didn't have the arms and the hands.
Nothing else.

And if I'm wrong, then Jeff Volk can prove me wrong. :)
