Sorry, that is why I have always said it is difficult sometimes to tell what a person means just by reading words on a page/computer screen. I just misunderstood what you were driving at. Thanks.

I guess I would have nothing to add really other than what I have already said. That is exactly what the National media accused TO of when he kept Phillips on the team. They claimed TO was interested in wins way more than anything else and would win at all costs. Of course Husker nation was up in arms because TO was incapable of making the wrong decision. Now Callahan's own fans are accusing him of the very same thing. Maybe Callahan IS going the win at all costs route. You may be 100% correct amundo. All I am saying is I am surprised at the reaction because as many times at that has happened over the years Husker fans should be conditioned to it.

My two cents worth is dismissal from the team should be reserved for the most serious offenses and team infractions. To me it is kind of like the Hall of Fame in a sport should be reserved for the elite of the elite and not the very good. Team dismissal should be reserved for the serious of the serious offenses or possibly offenders that a coach believes can't be helped by keeping them on the team. Now maybe Purify is in that area. My opinion is he is not. For one he appears very contrite and wanting to work things out and correct his life. Only time will tell if that happens but I really see no reason at this point for team dismissal. I thought he might be suspended more than one game but I never thought he was gone nor did I hope he was gone. On the radio Steve Sipple from the Journal Star said he thought it would be about two games. More than anything I thought Purify got off pretty light from the legal system.

My last post on the subject, I think. All I am doing now is rehashing what I have already said.
