[Husker] Purify's day in court

Maybe racist was a leap...but not as large of a leap
as suggesting that fans who think that Purify should
be kicked off the team also want him hung
(lynched?)...

Let's be honest. Purify got into a disagreement with
a bouncer in a bar one week, assaulted that bouncer a
week later in another bar, then got caught on a DWI.
That's three issues. Maybe the first one wasn't a big
deal by itself, but it led to the assault. That makes
it three strikes.

My take? Purify's #1 priority shouldn't be football,
it's the aggressive behavior and alcohol problem.
That needs to be taken care of first and foremost.
Once he gets past those demons, then we can talk about
playing football again.

I don't see that being a "quick fix", and since Purify
has a redshirt year available, I think he should sit
out the entire season. If he meets all the goals
(treatment, probation, no further trouble, community
service, etc.), then he can be eligible to play in
2008.

That gives Purify a chance to get his personal life in
order, doesn't throw the kid away, and sends a strong
message.
