It will be very difficult to punish a team in one of the BCS
conferences with TV or bowl penalties, as that then punishes every
revenue-sharing team in the conference as well, and no way is Texas or
Michigan or Florida gonna put up with losing major $$ because sombody
else in the conference got caught doing what pretty much everybody
does. With athletic budgets the way they are, anything that curtails
income is tantamount to a death sentence.
