Thanks for the recollections Rick. I really have enjoyed this discussion. It has certainly brought back many memories. You bring up a name, Dick Perry, that I am surprised hasn't been brought more into the discussion. Dick, was an extremely good sportscaster. Like I said before I always bounced between Lyell and Dick Perry. Bremser was fun to listen to but Perry was a much better announcer. Back in those days Dick Perry and Bill Wood had the morning show on KFOR. I never missed it. The number of people Dick and Bill took to work every morning over the years is legion. Dick Perry was also a widely recognized high school sportscaster. Perry once said he enjoyed doing the high school games every bit as much as NU games. I wonder if the reason Dick Perry isn't brought up more has to do with coverage. KFAB and its network probably would have covered a much larger area than did KFOR.

I still wish we still had the days of several stations doing Husker games. I enjoyed the selection it gave the listeners. The problem today is if you like the current announcer then things are fine but if you don't you have nowhere else to go. But, as in most decisions, you can follow the money trail.
