[Husker] Carriker Impressive

We've never played a 3-4 defense, there aren't a lot of teams that do.
Besides that, the more coaches you get exposed to, don't you think you're
going to learn more stuff from each of them?

Beyond that, it's a helluva lot easier to become unstoppable against an
offensive line because defensive lineman are typically more athletic, and
it takes a while for an offensive line to operate as a unit. It's not that
surprising that defensive players tear them up in an All-Star game.

And even beyond that, most all-star games such as the Senior Bowl are
limited in what they can do with regards to the rules, so they can have a
guy like Carriker play with more reckless abandon to see what he can do in
 coming off the ball.

And even more, he'll have an all-star secondary behind him, which he did
not have at Nebraska this season. He had to play the type of defense that
the team needed, not what necessarily made him look the best. Why else
would the Blackshirt have finished with much fewer sacks this year than
last? Because they were playing a software defense, not as much an
attacking defense, until the secondary got better later in the season and
they could afford to attack more.

Bottom line - there's no comparison to what he's doing now as to what he
was asked to do in the Blackshirt defense.
