Been lurking on the list for the past 8 or 9 years and this is my first post.
Went to high school in Lincoln (Northeast `70) and have been living in
Austin,Texas since '83. Not much Husker news down here but there was even less
before the Big 12. Thanks to Mike and all the posters for keeping me up
to date on all the Husker happenings.

My infatuation with the Huskers started in Haysville,Ks when my dad,UNL
grad and two time Kansas Relay decathlon champ, remarked about how he had
coached Larry Wachholtz in freshman football in North Platte. I think it was
during a Colorado game where Larry intercepted a couple of passes but that was
a long time ago. We moved back to Lincoln where dad coached track and cross
country at East till he retired.

The only way I was ever able to see a game live was by ushering in the north
stadium as a boy scout.
