That UCLA game was the first (and I believe the only) time I ever cried
over a football game loss too.  I had never experienced losing in my
short, at the time, fandom.  I will admit I cried over Brook's loss, but
that was a much different kind of loss.

Oh well, since the cat is out of the bag...

I first became aware of Husker football at the age of 10 when my Dad got

really excited by the 1970 Husker team tying a strong USC to stay 
unbeaten. If this Husker football thing was so exciting I wanted to know

about it. By the end of the season I was hooked, listening to every game

on the radio, and watching enthralled when they were on TV. I thought 
the Huskers were invincible, and cried when I experienced the first loss

in the '72 season. But even then, being a Husker fan brought much more 
joy than pain. It's been a wonderful ride, and I plan to keep riding on 
into the sunset...
