Pam Rietsch, 58, born in Detroit, MI and live in Howell with hubby of 30
years Don (about halfway between Detroit & Lansing) . I grew up hearing
people carry on about U of M and thus had my fill of them. Met Don and when
he told me he was from NE all I could do was figure that the state had to be
somewhere between Chicago & CA. I had no clue!
When he brought me out to Ne I asked him what the smell was and he said
probably "fresh air" <g> I was a Penn State fan for all that mattered
because I really did not understand the game of football. He convinced me to
be a Husker fan for the betterment of our relationship if I recall that
correctly. <g>
Now many years later I still do not totally understand the game and have to
watch it on tv so I know which color to root for, but am a rabid fan. I have
huge N's on either side of my suv and driving to Ann Arbor often I get ummmm
unusual finger symbols.
I also probably know more about NE than hubby as I am a NE historian and
have thousands of web pages about the state's history on line through my
www.MemorialLibrary.com site because I belong to the NEGenWeb group.
I love the list and all the info that comes out, which sometimes I
understand and other times have to wait until one of you experts explain it
more so I can figure it out. Would love once to meet all the posters maybe
for a game too. We did that for our NEGenWeb group and it was a hoot putting
a face to the names.
