What a devious way to bring us lurkers out of the closet!
57 years young, born and raised in Lincoln, Bachelors and Masters from UNL
in 79 and 81 (don't do the math, it's a long story). My son Rich played
bball for the Huskers between '87 and '91.
i didn't have much choice in my Big Red fanaticism. My father was one of
those Husker football fans who attended every game and did nothing but talk
about them incessantly throughout the pre-Devaney years where "Wait until
next year!" often meant getting more than a 1 in the win column.
We lived in Greeley, Colorado in the early 60s. The only radio in the house
on which we could hear the game was the family auto. Somehow, my dad
thought he looked less ridiculous when there were two of us sitting out in
the car, in front of the house, under three feet of snow, on a Saturday
afternoon, yelling and screaming. Coloradoans didn't "get it" back then.
They still don't ;)
i've been a lister since the beginning; i read every post and, although i
rarely speak up, those of you who do keep me connected to my lifelong love
of all things Big Red. i can't thank you enough.
Please add Rhode Island to the list.
