Just curious about your source for the list, Jeff.

I haven't seen anything definitive.

Here's from today's Pioneer Press Dispatch -

Maturi said the football search is a higher priority because of the
approaching Feb. 7 signing day. Among the coaches who have expressed an
interest are former Vikings coach and current Jacksonville Jaguars
assistant Mike Tice, as well as Mark Trestman, Dan McCarney and Larry
Coker, each of whom recently lost his college job.

Several names have been tossed out by the media, including former
Gophers player and coach Tony Dungy. The Indianapolis Colts head coach,
who started his career as a defensive backs coach at the U, said Tuesday
he's not interested.

Other possible candidates include Ohio coach Frank Solich, LSU defensive
coordinator Bo Pelini, former San Francisco 49ers and N.C. State
offensive coordinator Marc Trestman and Wisconsin offensive coordinator
Paul Chryst, who worked with Maturi in Madison.

Certainly there are several more. Asked how the school would deal with
media outlets demanding information on the coaching search from a public
university, Bruininks said, "We'll have to manage that. We just can't
run it the usual way."

An article in today's Star Tribune starts with info about Lane Kiffin
and continues with -

St. Louis Park native Marc Trestman, a longtime NFL and college
assistant, also confirmed that he has been contacted. School officials
have stated publicly that Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy is their
dream candidate, but Dungy has said he's not interested.

Others who have expressed interest include former Miami coach Larry
Coker, former Iowa State coach Dan McCarney and LSU defensive
coordinator Bo Pelini.

Rumors are rampant at the national coaches convention in San Antonio.
Two names that have surfaced are Montana coach Bobby Hauck and TCU coach
Gary Patterson. It's unclear whether either coach has been contacted.

I think only Joel Maturi, the AD and President Robert Bruininks, really
know what the short list might be.

The current short list for the job at Minnesota, in order of likelihood
they will be hired is:

1. Paul Chryst (Wisconsin OC)
2. Marc Tressman (Former NC State OC)
3. Lane Kiffin (USC OC)
4. Bo Pelini (LSU DC)

Solich is not on the list.
