I made it to the 1969 Sun Bowl for the blowout of a 5-5
Georgia Bulldog team.
The media in Georgia wanted the Bulldogs to decline the
invite when they lost
their last couple of games after accepting the bid to play.
That Husker team was
the precursor, of course, to the great 1970 & 71 squads. I
believe that
Paul Rogers set a Sun Bowl record for field goals kicked but
I don't recall the
exact number-seems like five but the memory has gone since
attending my only
bowl game.
