Those were great times. I don't mean to keep beating a dead horse but
in many ways it seems like yesterday. I would have been in my early
twenties and a Junior or Senior in college. It is really hard to believe
we're pushing 40 years ago. I feel very fortunate to have lived the years I
have to see Husker football grow from being pretty much an afterthought to
where it is today. I remember when you could buy a ticket at the ticket
window on game day and maybe there might be 3,000 at the game. Downtown
merchants didn't gear up for game day because they couldn't tell the
difference if a game was in town or not. And then to see today where game
day takes over Lincoln and the State of Nebraska with 80,000 plus at the
game. I am fortunate enough to have seen five NU coaches. Those being
Jennings, Devaney, Osborne, Solich, and Callahan. I'll shut up now and
thanks for allowing me to ramble. It's just that a flood of memories come
in when I start thinking about the total Husker experience.
