What many overlook is the fact that other college athletes would also 
need to be paid, even ones from non-revenue sports.  While it would not 
be hard to come up with funds for major sports at major schools, coming 
up with funds to pay non-revenue sport athletes would be very hard on 
some athletic departments.  Some smaller 1-A schools may not even 
generate enough revenue to "fairly" compensate the football players, let 
alone the women's bowling team.

Were this money to not be subsidized by private donations and instead by 
tuition money from regular students, then that is not something I could 
tolerate.
