Against ranked teams other than OU: 13-3.  Against ranked teams
other than OU and Missouri: 12-1.

Still, most everyone (including Osborne, I'm sure) were more than
a little frustrated by "Sooner magic".

Someone referred to a "well of patience" during those years.  Some
were patient, but for others this wasn't good enough and the well
was dry by 1978.
