Hard to say, the snap looked a bit off target to me, which threw off the
timing of the play completely.
Given the location on the field, the score and how early it was in the game,
I thought the call was awfully high risk compared to the potential reward.
After the Boise St. game, I think my wife put the finger on the problem we
have with Callahan. The Boise State coach looked like the most excited
man on the planet, Bob Stoops looked utterly dejected.
By comparison, after the game Bill Callahan looked like he was heading home
from just another day at the office. From his face, I don't know that
the loss affected him nearly as much as it affected ANYONE on this list.
Osborne may have had a stone face at time, but at least it always looked
like he cared whether Nebraska had won or lost the game.

WOW, I am more and more amazed by the comments on the list after every game.
Callahan doesn't seem to care (paraphrased from above)---does anybody watch
any of the post game interviews/press conferences/Coaches Show?
After the loss to OU in the Big 12 championship, Callahan is holding back
the tears and absolutely beating himself up throughout the ENTIRE Bill Callahan
Coach's Show. Just because he shows some restraint and projects a
professional image/calm demeanor doesn't mean he doesn't care.
I believe in Callahan, recruits and parent's of recruits believe in Callahan
(another Top 10 recruiting class). Imagine if we had more fans with more
realistic "rebuilding" expectations.
There is only ONE Tom Osborne!! and there will NEVER be another Tom Osborne!!
Remember, it took Tom 20 years to win a MNC.
I was at the game, with seats in perfect position to view the Fake Punt, if
the play was executed properly it would have worked. It was without any doubt
a VERY risky call. It was early in the game and Callahan must have felt that
the way his team was playing at the time that it wouldn't be a game killing
call if it failed. We were absolutely dominating the game at the time. Auburn
didn't beat us---WE gave it away.
