[Husker] Positive thoughts

Let me ask this, and I'll try to phrase this carefully...If, as Dick
suggests, NU does show dramatic improvement next year, and perhaps not
have an improved record...will that be acceptable??? I agree -- the
talent level has improved. But how long will it continue to be
acceptable to show improvement without the record to back it up? In
Callahan's three seasons, the Huskers have lost 6,4, and now 5 games.
That's a fact. If next year's team looks a lot better (however that is
measured), but again loses 4 or 5 games, is that okay??? If, when
Callahan was hired, it was stated that in year three, Callahan would
lose 5 games, would that have been "acceptable"? Regardless of the
"improvement" shown by the team, at some point I would think losing even
3 games a year would not be viewed as acceptable. What is that point?

I am honestly not trying to be troll-like with this question. I
certainly am not advocating the removal of the coach or his staff. Just
wondering when the natives will really start to get restless.

Come on, Jay, Nevada? They can't be any good - they're from the WAC
after all. Just ask Bob Stoops.

Seriously, your point is very well taken. NU could improve dramatically
next year and have nothing to show for it in terms of an improved
record.
