You know I agree it's all about execution on these plays, but those guys
can really be trusted to execute -- and that's coaching too. This isn't
some back handed knock at Callahan (or any other coach for that matter),
BSU is just a supremely disciplined team that was incredibly focused. I
saw their Oregon St. game this year where BSU was down 14 to start the
game and came back and killed them. TCU played them a couple of years
ago too and I came away really impressed. If Dan Hawkins is the
"father" of that philosophy and can get that to work at Colorado... Man
look out.
Part of the "secret" though -- is playing to that underdog psychology
and also not having to deal with prim donnas. That may not be a good fit
at Colorado.
The 2 point conversion play was so just fun to watch and review on Tivo.
The QB and RB execution was great... The guard that sealed off that side
of the field -- but first made a pretty effective fake block to the
right was amazing. That was a team effort. No MVP in that game IMHO.

I absolutely agree. Wonderful game. Probably one of the most exciting I
have ever watched. Peterson did a brilliant job setting up the plays.
(My favorite was the two point converstion play. at the end of
regulation. What a well-conceived play).
My only point is that had Rabb dropped the lateral, game over.
Peterson's brilliant gameplan and stategy does no good if the players
fail to execute it.
That being said, I also agree with you that Callahan sometimes is "too
clever by half". Hopefully he addresses this issue.
