I forget the precise rule and circumstance Boise St was facing. As I recall
they were in double overtime. If they go to triple overtime, I believe a
team is required to go for 2 after the score a TD (maybe wrong here-maybe it
is after triple overtime). Anyway, if B St was on defense at 2x-OT, they
would be on offence at 3x-OT. Maybe they figured there was no reason to
postpone going for 2 and that they had some momentum from their last score.

I don't think anyone believed that it was the correct 'textbook' call. I
still 
can't believe he risked the whole game on this one call. But, it took guts--
therefore, a gutsy call.
