It was 1976. NU led 17-13 with about two minutes to play and had OU
backed up to their five or so. Their QB (whose name escapes me) threw a
wounded duck to midfield that went through the hands of a defender and
into the waiting arms of a diving receiver. On the next play, a reserve
QB (Kelly Phelps, I think) went into the game, and I told my wife, "This
guy hasn't played a down all day. It's a trick play." Sure enough, hook
and lateral, with Elvis Peacock taking it to the NU three or four; he
scored on the next play, and the Sooners won 20-17.
