[Husker] Positive thoughts

As usual, I saw the game through my Scarlet colored glasses.  While disappointed with the loss, I thought I saw some very significant improvements in the program.

1.  The team competed well against, although losing to, several top programs in the country.  TX (18), USC(8), OU (7), Auburn (10) were all Top 10 at one point or another during the season and Nebraska could have beaten any of them.

2.  The defensive secondary improved throughout the season.  They will be solid next year.

3.  The offensive line is getting better and better...and these are all underclassmen.  I'm of the belief that the pipeline has been restored.

4.  The players are definitely on board with the schemes on both defense and offense.  When Callahan became the head coach, that wasn't the case.

5.  Finally, I'm very happy to see the attitude shift of this team, as compared to what was plainly visible several years ago.  Without naming players, I remember a previous QB laughing on the sidelines after playing horribly.  I also remember several defensive players who poo-poo'd NFL Huskers in the locker room trying to give them a pep talk.  This team, however, plays with fire and determination...from start to finish.

Prediction for next year...Huskers win the Big XII and finish in the Top 10.
