I didn't like that play either, but I'm not sure what they ran was 
exactly what was called--it looked there was a bit of confusion when 
the team lined up for the play.

As far as not kicking goes, the distance looked borderline on third 
down--then we lost yardage.  It may not have been apparent from TV, 
but there was a steady breeze from that end of the stadium.  It 
clearly affected the kicking game (e.g., the Auburn kicks *with* the 
wind went out of the  end zone).  I told my wife after the play that 
going for it had probably been their best choice from that position 
on the field.  Still didn't like the play, though.
