Many pro athletes still retain an affinity for their
college, as in many cases, it was the only team they
chose to be a part of.  In the pros, players generally
get drafted, traded, and change teams via free agency,
so only a few (Brett Favre, for example) end up being
identified with a team.

In high school, you go where you grew up...again,
usually not a choice.

Remember Tom Rathman and Roger Craig with their
"Huskers" labels on their helmets when they played for
the 49ers?
